There's no doubt that behind every great real estate agent these days there needs to be a great webmaster. Of course, the web isn't just a place for Realtors to 'reach people', but rather a place where home buyers can get the information that they need. The web is the most cost-effective way for Realtors to provide that information to the public. So it only makes sense to make the most of the internet. The relationship then develops during face-to-face meetings.

Considering that the real estate industry has moved away from print media to the internet in a BIG way in the past 5 years - according to NAR (National Association of Realtors), in 2007 85% of home buyers began their search online - it is not surprising that we need to encourage REALTORS (R) to become proactive in developing and maintaining an internet presence. This isn't about tooting their own horns...this is about being where your customers are when searching for real estate. Real estate will always be a people-based business - but you need to reach those "people" first, and the internet is a great tool for achieving that goal.
